“BienvenITA” is a project that promotes and networks the Italian community in Argentina. The project will not only include people (Italian nationals and their descendants, Argentinian citizens of Italian origin and new immigrants) but also institutions, associations, mutual aid societies, businesses, cultural and training organisations. The initiative will be launched on June 14 by the Italian Institute of Culture in Buenos Aires. It has been organised by the Italian Consulate General together with other organisations and unions such as INAPA, Confartigianato/CISP, INCA/CGIL, AGISCO and FACA. The idea behind the project is that all these organisations, which were created to respond to the needs of post-war immigrants and the wishes of Italians who settled in Argentina, are now facing a major challenge: the need to instigate an internal change of vision and actions in order to understand and meet the new demands of young Italian migrants. “BienvenITA” has been devised to network all these bodies and support them in meeting the new needs of a young Italian community, but at the same time, it will act as the point of reference for Italian and Argentinian institutions, on issues relative to the new Italian immigrants to the country, and as a forum in which to exchange experiences and information in order to promote new projects and services that meet the needs identified.
