Italian diplomacy plays an important role worldwide also by supporting the presence of Italian companies on foreign markets. An example of this is the first “sectorial meeting” with Italy’s major automobile manufacturers operating in Mexico, which was recently organised by the Italian Embassy in Mexico City in partnership with PricewaterhouseCoopers’s Desk Italia and the office of ICE–Agenzia for the internationalisation of Italian companies and their promotion abroad. The meeting was attended by representatives of FCA, Pirelli, Brovedani Reme, Olsa, Vimercati, Mastrotto, Global Funda and Rassini, and of the Chamber of Commerce and SACE. “The goal of the meeting – explains a note published on the Embassy’s website – is to promote dialogue between the companies of one of the most strategic sectors for Mexico’s economy, which offers Italian companies great business opportunities, especially in the spare parts sector”. The meeting highlighted the need to count on a larger number of local suppliers for the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) companies operating in Mexico.
