The aim of the ministerial meeting “Peace in the Middle East Initiative” scheduled in Paris today at the proposal of France, is to revive international support for the two-State solution in the Middle East. The meeting convenes the representatives of 29 Countries, including Italy. The dispute between Israel and Palestine, which has been at a deadlock for several years, risks losing priority in the present regional geopolitical scenario in which the emergency created by jihadist-driven terrorism has become the international community’s top priority. In this perspective, the ministerial meeting in Paris proposes to set forth a common position on the basis of which the Parties might resume the negotiation process.
