Italy’s excellence in football is back in the Caribbean one month after the workshop that brought Marcello Lippi to the region to deliver high-level training to 9 coaches of the national teams of an equal number of Caribbean States. From 3 to 5 June two workshops were held in Barbados, one for under-17 footballers and another one for the coaches of national teams.
Renzo Ulivieri, the President of the Association of Coaches and Director of the Coverciano School, held both workshops, bringing his 30-year long experience with Italy’s best Premier League clubs. Mr Ulivieri was assisted by manager Stefano Baldoni.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, thanks to the strong partnership with the Italian Football Federation, FIGC, which provides the technical know-how, is furthering its long-standing commitment towards capacity building, tailoring it to the needs and requests of the Countries in the areas of intervention. Indeed, Italian football, thanks to its successful track record, the high-quality of its technical preparation and of the overall organisation of the system, is in high demand among our numerous partners and represents a privileged channel of international dialogue. The demand for Italian football and our capability of meeting this need are one more proof of the fact that, in parallel to the Barbados workshop, a two-week football clinic for young footballers was taking place in Tuvalu, in the South Pacific.
