The Milan Polytechnic is a scientific and technological university that trains engineers, architects and industrial designers and that has always focused on quality and on innovative teaching systems and research but, most of all, on internationalisation.
A few days ago the Polytechnic received a new and prestigious award from China: the Golden Panda Award, under the “Education” category, was attributed to the Italian university for being the institution that most contributed to academic research and education in China. The award ceremony was held in Shanghai and the prize was handed over to Giuliano Noci, Pro-Rector of the Chinese local branch of the Milan Polytechnic. “This prize rewards the University for its ten years of large investments in China – Mr Noci said – it is the Country that the Polytechnic chose as the most important in which to implement its internationalisation strategies.”
After winning the prize, the University is already thinking of launching new projects. Pro-Rector Noci went on: “Now we are entering a second phase with the opening of a new branch in Xi’an, the construction of an Innovation Hub in Shanghai and the Bovisa Durando Project to attract Chinese investors.” The award was organised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China and promoted by the Italy-China Foundation, with the sponsorship of the Italian Embassy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry for Economic Development. The Milan Polytechnic has long been participating in numerous research and training projects in partnership with the most qualified universities in Europe, North America, South-East Asia and Eastern Europe. Thanks to the current drive towards internationalisation, the Milan Polytechnic is part of the European and global network of major technical universities offering numerous exchange programmes and double degrees, in addition to several all-English courses.
