The great music of Italian cinema takes centre stage at the 30th annual Izmir Festival, in Turkey, until June 25. The Italian Consulate in Izmir has secured some top performers for the event. Virtuosi Mauro Maur and Francesca de Clossey will appear on the prestigious stage of the Celsus Library in Ephesus to perform a selection of Italian film classics, with famous compositions by Morricone, Rota and Piccioni adapted for trumpet and piano.
The Festival is organized every year in the Aegean resort by the Izmir Foundation for Culture and Education. It spans a wide range of performances, from classical, traditional and modern music to ballet, theatre and opera.
