Beijing – Roberto Goffi’s photograpy show on 21st Milan Triennale staged in China

Roberto Goffi’s photography exhibition, designed to portray the complexity and richness of La Triennale di Milano, opened at Beijing’s Times Art Museum on Sunday. Goffi’s exhibition guides visitors on a journey through the milestones of the 21st Milan Triennale, which has been a reference point for international design ever since it opened in 1923. It has garnered success through the years, as proven again by this year’s very successful edition. The images convey the magic of a taste that evolves over time, which is rooted in tradition and yet projected onto the future. The exhibition is made up of over 200 photographs of objects of artistic and industrial design and of their locations, synthesizing the very essence of La Triennale, which is spread across different places: from Bicocca to the Fabbrica del Vapore, the Royal Villa in Monza, and the headquarters of La Triennale in Milan.

Andrea Cancellato, Director General of La Triennale di Milano, said: “Roberto Goffi’s more than 200 photographs give visitors a ball-park view of this project. Through the artist’s personal and artistic glance, we grasp the meaning of a collective project, whose force lies in the dialogue between applied arts, new technologies, the values underpinning the ties with the territory of origin, the international dimension of the major problems of city dwellers and the aesthetics and the beauty of things.” Mr Cancellato said he was very grateful to the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing for “wanting to be the first in the world to host the exhibition in a Country like China, which has contributed the most to the 21st International Exhibition with three excellent exhibitions.” Roberto Goffi’s photography exhibition will be travelling to other Chinese cities, including Qingdao, Chongqing and Shenzhen.
