United States – “The Secret” by Fiamma Montezemolo puts visual arts in centre stage

“The Secret” is the title of the solo exhibition by Fiamma Montezemolo, anthropologist and professor at the University of California. The exhibition is hosted at the Kadist Foundation of San Francisco (3295, 20th Street) and will run from 21 September to 1 October. Organised in partnership with the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC), the exhibition displays two installations: “Three Ecologies” and “Neon Afterwords” (the latter specifically produced for the occasion thanks to the IIC), which navigate through the gaps between art and anthropology, between the self and the others. The website of the IIC in San Francisco posted this notice: “Ushered by their senses, visitors will be invited to create their own itinerary through the installations in the pursuit of meanings, following in the steps of the voyage narrated by Jorge Luis Borges in the ‘Ethnographer’”. “The Secret” is the third and last part of  “Mapping the City”, a project launched by the IIC and curated by Marina Pugliese, with the aim of favouring exchanges in visual arts between Italy and the Bay Area.
