Chile – Santiago admires Constellations glass exhibition

“Constellations” is the title of an exhibition by glass artist Carellia Riccardi which will open in Santiago in Chile from 30 November to 29 December. The exhibition is hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) and organised in partnership with the Italian Embassy in Chile. Riccardi’s work, which is closely linked to the refined glass-blowing craftsmanship of Murano (Venice), is the outcome of the artist’s experimentation conducted in the last few years on the glass melting process. This process has led to generating a wide range of new options for the use of glass. The “Constellations” exhibition offers a new fantastic opportunity to rediscover, also in Chile, an all-Italian age-old but almost forgotten technique. Besides being a glass artist, Ricciardi is also a playwright and the author of the book from which the title of the exhibition is drawn. The book is a synthesis of the artist’s experiments with temperature and the glass-melting process, which provides ample research material on the use of glass and its possible forms.
