Czech Republic – Prime Minister Sobotka meets the Italian business community

CAMIC, the Italian-Czech Chamber of Commerce and Industry promoted a meeting between Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka and the representatives of the local Italian business community. Talks focused on the future of the economy, European integration and the migration crisis. The meeting opened with a greeting by Ambassador Aldo Amati who recalled the long-standing friendship between the two Countries and highlighted the excellence of current bilateral relations. He said: “Mr Bobotka’s Government will be remembered in history for having favoured this period of great economic growth, given momentum to the Country’s Europeanist thrust and for the high profile of his political choices.” The president of CAMIC, Gianfranco Pinciroli, highlighted some particularly relevant issues for companies operating in the Czech Republic, such as the conditions to attract foreign investment, a developing innovative industry and the labour market. He said: “During the past two years, trade has risen by 20%, especially in the industrial sector. Our common future lies in the sectors with a high added value. Moreover, the Czech Republic now has a great growth potential and it would be a pity not to grasp it because of a lack of human resources.” Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka confirmed the excellence of the two Countries’ bilateral relations. ”In 2015 foreign trade with Italy exceeded the threshold of 10 billion euros for the first time and, in addition, Italy is one of the most important partners of Czech businesses,” said Mr Sobotka.
