Turkey – A week dedicated to Italian contemporary cinema

The 7th Contemporary Cinema Festival will open in Ankara on November 14. The event, running till November 19 and hosted at the Centre of Contemporary Arts in the Turkish capital, is promoted by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Istanbul in conjunction with the Cankaya municipality and with the contribution of several private sponsor (Truk Traktor, Leonardo, Sinema TV, AY Marka). Festival participants will enjoy a selection of the latest and most successful Italian films starting with “Se Dio vuole” (2015), written and directed by Edoardo Falcone. Nine other films will follow:  “La mafia uccide solo d’estate” (2014), directed and played by Pierfrancesco Diliberto, known as Pif; “La prima luce” (2015) by Vincenzo Marra; the docufilm “Vinicio Capossela del paese dei coppoloni” (2016) by Stefano Obino; Paolo Virzi’s latest tragicomic film “La pazza gioia” (2016). The festival will also feature the docufilm “Italy in a day: un giorno da italiani” (2014), a first collective movie ever made in Italy, by Gabriele Salvatores; “Mia madre”(2015) by Nanni Moretti; “Suburra” (2015) by Stefano Sollima; “Belli di papa’ ,” a comedy (2015) by Guido Chiesa. “Le confessioni” (2016) by Roberto Ando’ will conclude the week dedicated to Italian cinema.
