Chamber of Deputies: 13 December the Conference on “Inclusion of People with Disabilities within Italian Cooperation”
On 13 December the Conference on “Inclusion of Disabilities in Italian Cooperation” will be organised by the Chamber of Deputies by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Maeci), the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (Aics) and the Italian network for disabilities and development (Rete Italiana Disabilita e Sviluppo, Rids), along with the participation of the major stakeholders in Development Cooperation working in the field of disabilities. Among the speakers attending the conference: Marina Sereni, Vice President of the Chamber of Deputies; Pietro Sebastiani, Director General for Development Cooperation of Maeci; Laura Frigenti, Director of Aics; Raffaele Tagorra, Director General for the Inclusion and Social Policies of the Ministry of Labour and Soial Policies; Giampiero Griffo, President of Rids; and Stefano Severe, United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Jordan.
Paola Severini, director of “Angeli Press”, will moderate the conference. The event focuses on the promotion and protection of the rights of people with disabilitites, including International Human Rights Day and the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities. Special attention will be devoted to the role played by the Italian Cooperation across the world in favour of people with disabilities. Italian Cooperation, which in recent years has gained recognition and a leadership role in the field, especially in the areas of crises and emergencies, operates to “draw attention to disabilities”.
