Chile – “El oro no se oxida” exhibition by Pamela Pintus opens in Santiago

The Italian Cultural Institute in Santiago is hosting the exhibition “El oro no se oxida” (“Gold does not rust”) by Italian artist Panela Pintu, which will run until 23 February. The exhibit, promoted by the Italian Embassy in Chile, the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) and Sinopsis Australis, is curated by Carmelo Cipriani.

The artist narrates through her paintings the emotional and creative bonds she has established in Chile, starting from her artist-in-residence programme in Valparaíso in 2014. Pintus studied at Rome’s Academy of Fine Arts under the tutorship of major artists of national renown such as Gianfranco Notargiacomo and Sergio Lombardo. She has won many art competitions and has exhibited her works in important art shows in Italy and abroad. Her art is characterised by a psychological trait which is transposed into her painting, photographic and site-specific language.
