United Kingdom – Science Park: Arexpo presents tendering process at Ambassador’s residence

A Science Park, an area entirely dedicated to science, technology and innovation, is currently being established on the area that hosted the Expo Milano 2015. On 11 January, at the residence of the Italian Ambassador in London, the top management of Arexpo presented the public tender that was launched to choose a partner in the project to develop the area of roughly 1,000,000 square meters between Milan and Rho. The presentation, opened by the Italian Ambassador to the UK, Pasquale Terracciano, was addressed to a select audience of investors and professionals in the area of urban planning and construction. The tendering process, which will expire on 28 February, envisages projects to develop a district essentially devoted to science, research, and innovation. More specifically, the project will hinge on the construction of a Human Tenchnopole and on the partnership with the University of Milan with the aim of respectively developing a Research & Development Centre and an innovative Science Department University campus accommodating almost 18,000 people, including students and researchers. In the afternoon, the Executive Board of Arexpo opened a discussion with the representatives of the London Legacy Corporation (LLCD), a London-based public company in charge of designing the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and subsequently developing it after the end of the 2012 Olympics.
