Mexico – Mexico City hosts “La Passione Di Frida” exhibition

The Italian Cultural Institute in Mexico City has organised an exhibition with the title “La Passione di Frida” (“Frida’s Passion”). The event is the fruit of the cooperation between sculptor Emanuele Viscuso and Colombian photographer Leo Matiz, who was born in Macondo like Gabriel Garcia Marquez and was a friend of his.

The photographer immortalised the faces of an epoch, including the stern, resolute and granitic expression of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Emanuele Viscuso and Leo Matiz met by chance in Milan in the 1980s, where they got acquainted. The exhibition is the outcome of this long-standing professional cooperation that only ended with Matiz’s death in 1998. The exhibition hosted by the Italian Cultural Institute will open on 16 February and will run until 18 March.
