The 12th edition of the Italian Festival in Thailand has started. It is a promotional and cultural integrated programme organised by the Italian Embassy in Bangkok as part of the #vivereALL’italiana initiative.
This year the Thai capital will host many events dedicated to Italy for 112 days, averaging two events per week. The programme features 57 events with 12 jazz bands, 14 classical music concerts, three Italian songs performances, three film events, 12 conferences, three theatre performances, two contemporary art exhibitions, two photo exhibitions, a contemporary dance show and a fashion show.
Special attention will be devoted to “Brand” Italy during five events to run throughout several days, organised at the city’s major shopping centres. These events will showcase Italian excellence and typical wine&food products during the Weeks of Italian Language and Cuisine.
The decision to extend the festival throughout the entire year was well received by the public, the press and Thai social networks. Italy’s presence is very visible: the local Ministry of Tourism has included the programme among the events with attractiveness for tourists, especially Asian ones (32 million last year, with Bangkok at the top of the rankings for cities visited in the world.)
