Italian Republic Day will also be celebrated in Russia. The Italian Cultural Institute and the Consulate General of Italy in Saint Petersburg will pay homage to our country by screening Italo Moscati’s documentary film “1.200 km di bellezza” [“1,200 Km of beauty”] (2015). The event, which will take place on Tuesday, 6 June, at 7:00 pm in the multifunctional room of Italy’s Consulate General, has been organised in collaboration with Francesco Filipperi, an Italian Language professor. The images and the film footage made by Istituto Luce in the past ninety years portray Italy in all its radiance: from the South to the North, along 1200 kilometers, to its coastlines, its structures, its inhabitants and its folklore. Orson Welles (Othello), Luchino Visconti (Gattopardo) and other actors illustrate this journey through cinema, taking viewers on a Grand Tour to enjoy and appreciate the entire peninsula. The film will be screened in Italian with English subtitles.
