Italian Embassy to the Holy See-Artificial intelligence, an ethical challenge?

“Artificial Intelligence: an ethical challenge?” is the name of the seminar promoted by the Italian Embassy to the Holy See in conjunction with the  “Cortile dei Gentili”, a body of the Pontifical Council for Culture established by Pope Benedict XVI to favour the encounter and the dialogue between believers and non-believers, scheduled for Thursday 6 July, at 5.30 p.m., to be hosted at Palazzo  Borromeo (via delle Belle Arti, 2 – Rome). The event will be attended by academics from Oxford, from the Institutes of  BioRobotics and  Dirpolis of the  Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, in Pisa, from  Luiss and Gregoriana universities, prominent representatives of the Catholic, diplomatic, institutional and scientific milieu. The Minister of Education, Universities and Research, Valeria Fedeli, will draw the meeting’s conclusions. The  programme includes addresses by the  Italian Ambassador to the Holy See, Daniele Mancini, and by the  President of the Pontifical Council for Culture, Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi. Presentations will be delivered, among others, by Sebastiano Maffettone, a jurist from LUISS “Guido Carli”; Luciano Floridi, a philosopher from Oxford University; Father Paolo Benanti, a theologian from the Pontificia Università Gregoriana. The seminar will be chaired by  prof. Roberto  Cingolani, Director of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia. Invitation to the meeting is required.
