Astana – Piedmont takes centre state at Expo Future Energy

Piedmont will take centre stage at the International Expo2017 Future Energy in Astana (Kazakhstan) on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 July. The event, organised under the supervision of the Italian Embassy, will be attended by the representatives of top-ranking national and international agencies such as the Ministry of Defence, the Italian Space Agency, Geodata and Telespazio. The programme, outlined by the Regional Authorities of Piedmont in partnership with CEIPiemonte and DMO Piemonte Marketing, is based on the theme chosen for Pavilion Italia: the evolution of the energy sector from the 1950s to date, with a special focus on energy efficiency and bioenergy and on the energy policies to be enforced up to 2050, decarbonisation and environmental safety. The agenda of the event at Pavilion Italia on Friday morning envisages a round table between technology companies on the sustainability of the “Clean&Tech” sectoral project, coordinated by CEIPiemonte and organised in partnership with the E-venti Kazakhstan agency, which will manage the B2B meetings between Piedmontese and Kazak companies; and a networking event at the Italian Embassy in Astana targeted on international diplomatic officials, opinion leaders, representatives of the international business community, local authorities, tour operators and journalists. Saturday’s morning agenda at Pavilion Italia will include a workshop on “Space as Italy’s development model for high-tech used in the energy sector – Stimulate and facilitate the use of space technology, know-how and systems for future applications in the energy sector”, coordinated by the Regional Councils of Piedmont and Lazio in partnership with Thales Alenia Space. Piedmont’s guest-star participation opened with a workshop on tourism for tour operators and journalists, coordinated by DMO Piemonte Marketing and organised in conjunction with the Italian Embassy and ENIT Moscow, which was attended by 40 people.
