On 6 July the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco will inaugurate a photographic exhibition entitled “Le Maroc du XXe siècle: impressions et souvenirs des explorateurs italiens,” which will remain open to the public until 30 July. It is a collection of shots of Morocco taken by Italian geologists/geographers who travelled across the country between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th. The exhibition has been organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Rabat, in cooperation with the Italian Embassy, the National Library and the Societa Geografica Italiana, which has provided the material. Forty photographs and some explanatory panels portray Morocco as seen through the eyes of Italian pioneers of the time. The show will travel also to Casablanca, Beni Mellal and Marrakech. A lecture by professor Nadia Fusco will also take place during the opening event.
