Dublin – Nature immaginate, an illustrated encounter with Prof. Bucchi

(29 August 2017) Some images are just so famous that they have become real visual norms, just like the image showing human evolution or the structure of the atom. The book “Nature immaginate” by Massimiano Bucchi and Elena Canadelli, is a collection of images whose visual dimension has had a significant impact on our social and cultural conceptions and on how we perceive the natural world. The text will be presented during a lecture that will be promoted by the Italian Cultural Institute of Dublin this coming 31 August (6:30 – 8pm) Professor Bucchi (University of Trento) will review the history of each image, documenting its cultural impact through the different media of painting, cinema, comics and advertising.
