The Italian Cultural Institute (IIC) in Belgrade presents a retrospective of Italian artist Daniel Schinasi, the founder of Neo-futurism. The exhibition, curated by his daughter Sarah who will be present at the opening, covers a broad range of the artist’s artistic production: approximately 30 works in the Neo-futurist style mainly dedicated to music and sport in which the focus is on movement and dynamics, translated into colour and form. Following up on the aesthetic results of Umberto Boccioni and Gino Severini, Schinasi developed the new ethics of futurist painting with the aim of recovering the humanistic values that have characterised Italian art history. One of the major drivers of the renewal of Italian art within Europe together with Carlo Carra’ and Giorgio De Chirico, Schinasi also worked side by side with the maximum expressions of contemporary art in Paris.
A painter with a great narrative force, in addition to holding numerous international personal exhibitions, Schinasi also composed large murals and public artworks representing the humanistic values of Neo-futurism.
