The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, is in Vienna for the first OSCE Permanent Council under Italian chairmanship, which is being held in the Imperial Palace of Hofburg.
On Minister Alfano’s agenda, as the Organization’s Chairperson-in-Office, is a meeting with the OSCE Secretary General, Ambassador Thomas Greminger, which will be followed with the Permanent Council meeting, to be opened and closed by the Italian Foreign Minister. The event will be broadcast, in Italian and English, in live streaming starting from 10 a.m. on the webpage www.osce.org/live.
At the end of the Permanent Council, Alfano and Greminger will hold a joint press conference.
Minister Alfano will visit the photographic exhibition on Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino on display at the Palace before standing for the customary family photo.
After a working lunch, Minister Alfano will attend the annual meeting between the Chairperson-in-Office and the Secretary General and the leaders of independent Institutions and the heads of OSCE’s Field Missions, which will mark the last appointment on the Minister’s Vienna agenda.
