Travel Safely

THE CRISIS MANAGEMENT UNIT OF THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION, ALONG WITH ENAC AND ASSAEROPORTI, RENEW THEIR CAMPAIGN TO “TRAVEL SAFELY” ABROAD

The Crisis Management Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with ENAC (Italian Civil Aviation Authority) and Assaeroporti (Italian Airport Management Association), have renewed the safety information campaign in 27 Italian airports. It reminds Italians who are planning to travel abroad on holiday to consult the “Viaggiaresicuri.it” portal and register with “Dovesiamonelmondo.it”. This will help travellers stay updated on security conditions in the countries they are traveling to, and will also be for the Crisis Management Unit to provide assistance more quickly in the case of emergency.

“Italians who travel the world nowadays – for tourism, work, study, sport or solidarity – have become very sensitive to the issue of safety” says Stefano Verrecchia, the Head of the Crisis Management Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. “The Crisis Management Unit has been providing a service to travellers for over 30 years, giving guidance by making credible, in-depth, independent information available for them to make informed, responsible choices on where to travel. Download the Crisis Management Unit App before leaving, stay updated on the security alerts for the country of destination and register with our online portal: three simple moves for a worry-free trip abroad.

“ENAC is also supporting the information campaign launched by the Crisis Management Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation this year by making its communication instruments available to help raise awareness in travellers who go abroad” – says the Director General of ENAC, Alessio Quaranta. “We encourage passengers travelling by plane to stay informed and register on the Viaggiare Sicuri and Dovesiamonelmondo websites, very important instruments for all of us to travel safely all year long, especially in the summer, which is a very busy period for airline traffic”.

Fulvio Cavalleri, Deputy Vice President of ASSAEROPORTI said, “Once again, Assaeroporti and the associated airports are supporting the initiative of the Crisis Management Unit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. This confirms how important it is to make instruments like these available to provide safety and peace-of-mind to our fellow Italians who travel abroad more frequently, especially during the summer holidays. The Viaggiare Sicuri information campaign has already been widely promoted in airports throughout the country thanks to the participation of ENAC, Assaeroporti, and especially the airport management companies, ADR, Aeroporti di Puglia, Aeroporto di Bologna, Aeroporto di Genova, Aeroporto FVG, Aeroporto Valerio Catullo, AIRGEST, AIRiminum 2014, GEASAR, GESAC, SAC, SACBO, SAGAT, SASE, SAVE, SEA, SOGAER and SOGEAAL”.

For the entire summer holiday period, ENAC and Assaeroporti will promote the services offered by the Crisis Management Unit by publishing info banners and showing the official video on their websites. The airport managers involved will also support the initiative by promoting the information campaign through monitors at the air terminals, web portals, social channels and Wi-Fi TV at the following airports: Alghero, Bari, Bergamo, Bologna, Brindisi, Cagliari, Catania, Foggia, Genoa, Milan Linate, Milan Malpensa, Naples, Olbia, Perugia, Rimini, Rome Ciampino, Rome Fiumicino, Taranto, Turin, Trapani, Trieste, Venice and Verona. The official video will also be broadcast on the ENAC “totem” at the following airports: Bari, Genoa, Milan Linate, Naples, Olbia, Pantelleria, Pisa, Reggio Calabria, Rome Ciampino, Rome Fiumicino – Cerimoniale di Stato, Rome Fiumicino – Terminal 3, Rome Urbe, Turin and Venice.
