Earthquake in Indonesia: information for Italian nationals

Terremoto in Indonesia
Terremoto in Indonesia

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Embassy of Italy in Jakarta and the Crisis Unit, continues to provide information to Italian nationals present in the areas affected by the earthquake that struck Indonesia. More than 2,000 Italian citizens registered with AIRE and approximately 6,000 non-resident Italian nationals registered on Dove siamo nel mondo are currently in the country. On the island of Flores, around 700 non-resident Italian nationals are registered on Dove siamo nel mondo.

The main airports in the area remain operational. High demand for flights from international tourists and the local population is resulting in limited availability of seats on air services departing from the area.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges Italian nationals in the affected area to remain in contact with the Embassy and to register their presence through the Crisis Unit’s systems. In case of need, the Embassy of Italy in Jakarta can be contacted on +62 8151811344 and +62 8139964395, or the Foreign Ministry’s Crisis Unit on +39 06 36225 or by email at unita.crisi@esteri.it.
