Italy’s Economic Diplomacy, 24 September: latest news from the world

The Foreign Ministry continues organising the cycle of events dedicated to highlighting the business opportunities offered by the procurement system of International Organizations and Regional Development Banks.

On 2 October, it will be the turn of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), which will be the focus of a whole-day Workshop entitled “INTER-AMERICAN DEVELOPMENT BANK GROUP: what opportunities for Italian businesses?”, organised by the Directorate General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) in partnership with the IDB, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Confindustria.   

The IDB, which was created in 1959, is the oldest and largest regional multilateral development bank and the largest source of multilateral financing for economic, social and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean. Last year, it financed more than 90 projects worth a total of 11.4 billion USD in the 26 Latin America and Caribbean member countries.

At the Workshop, IDB experts will illustrate the opportunities, ways and procedures to follow in order to work with the Bank and the representatives of the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) and SIMEST will present the available financial instruments to support the internationalisation of Italian companies in emerging Countries.

At the close of the Workshop, companies will be given the opportunity to interact with the representatives of the IDB in a restricted B2B session.
