Italian Investment Attraction Tour: stopped in Lombardy on 7 November 2018

The Lombardy Leg of the Italian Investment Attraction Tour was held last 7 November in Milan. The event was one of the last meetings aimed at illustrating the national and regional structure to attract foreign investments to Italy and at enhancing cooperation at different levels: international, national, regional and sub-regional, in the effort to attract foreign investments and stimulate the creation of a broader offer.

The event was attended by representatives of the Foreign Ministry (MAECI), the Ministry of Economic Development (MISE), the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces, ICE-Agency, the Region of Lombardy, and other players active in attracting foreign investments.

The MAECI officials highlighted that, also in attracting foreign direct investments, Italian diplomacy makes available its most important asset: the overseas Network of 126 Embassies and 80 Consulates, supported by the Offices of ICE-Agency and ad hoc investment attraction Desks set up in strategic cities and in the principal financial hubs in the Countries giving origin to most of the foreign investments.

In the afternoon, local authorities, multinationals and consultants of the sector illustrated the best practices and strategies to attract investments in Lombardy with the aim of increasing the coordination between all the actors involved and thus attract resources that can enrich local communities, create jobs and contribute to the growth of the Region.
