Australia: the Government puts its stakes on digital development
The Australian Government puts its stakes on digital development. The Government’s Industry, Innovation and Science Department recently published a detailed document illustrating the strategy and initiatives adopted to favour and promote it. The Document tackles the issues of developing skills, the digital economy and infrastructure, cybersecurity, the use of Big Data and enforcement and governance regulations. The Australian Government acknowledged that the Country’s future economic development will be driven by technological development and especially by the development of digital technologies, primarily the following: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT) and Quantum Computing. The Document analyses the effects that developing these digital technologies can have on the factors of national economy (agriculture, manufacturing, mining, tourism, corporate services, health, education, everyday and emergency services and transports) with a special focus on the peculiarities of Australia.
