IPS ROME 2019 – SEMINAR ON INTERNATIONAL PROCUREMENT “DOING BUSINESS WITH THE UN”.
A seminar on international procurement “Doing Business with the UN” will be held at EXCO 2019, the first International Cooperation Expo, which will take place at the Rome Fair next 16 and 17 May. The event, which is co-organized by Italy (the Italian Trade Agency, ICE, in cooperation with the DGSP of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation), Israel and Malta, is designed to promote the participation of businesses interested in exploring the opportunities offered by the United Nations, in particular by the UN Procurement Service through tenders for services and goods. The Seminar is organized into four panels focusing on procurement in the following sectors: agri-food, fishery and agriculture, medical and pharmaceutical services, the migration emergency, peacekeeping operations and construction, ICT innovation, aerospace technology and engineering. Christian Sauders, Assistant to the UN Secretary General and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Del Re, will be speaking at the Seminar along with presenters who are heads of the procurement departments of the main UN agencies, including UNPD, UNIDO, ICTP, UNDP, IAEA, UNGSC, UNICEF, ILO, FAO, IFAD, WFP. B2B meetings between the UN agency representatives and enterprises will be held in the afternoons of both days.
