Italy’s Economic Diplomacy, 20 June: latest news from the world

RIO DE JANEIRO: PRESENTED THE PREVIEW OF THE “DOING BUSINESS IN BRAZIL” INVESTMENT GUIDE

The Commercial Office of the Italian Embassy in Brazil, in partnership with GM Venture and KPMG, released a preview of the “Doing Business in Brazil” investment guide for Italian businesses interested in investing in the Brazilian market.

A preview of the guide was presented in Rio de Janeiro on 14 June by the Italian Ambassador to Brazil, Antonio Bernardini, and by the managing partner of GM Venture, Graziano Messana, at a meeting between the Brazilian Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, and the representatives of approximately 100  Italian companies. The event was opened by the Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ricardo Antonio Merlo.

The guide aims to provide Italian entrepreneurs with an instrument that is simple to use and to consult, and effectively useful to make decisions on their strategic investments in the Brazilian market. It maps the investment opportunities subdivided by geographic area and sector of activity; illustrates the guidance role of the Embassy and of the other members of the Italian economic system in Brazil, with a special focus on the financing options offered by the Cassa Depositi e Prestiti group; provides advice on the strategy to enter the market; contains a guide on the legal, taxing and regulatory aspects; and provides a list of the 969 Italian companies recorded in Brazil, subdivided by geographic area and main sector of activity.

The unabridged version of the guide of approximately 250 pages will be officially presented in Italy in September. To take a look at the preview, click here.
