The Italy-Azerbaijan Business Forum was held at the Farnesina to consolidate the excellent economic and commercial relations between the two countries, after the 5th Session of the Italy-Azerbaijan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, held in Rome on 14 January 2020.
The summit was opened by Ilham Aliyev, President of the Azerbaijani Republic, and by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio.
The summit continued in the presence of the Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs Manlio Di Stefano.
There were about 90 representatives of bodies, associations and companies from different sectors (agro-industry; infrastructure; energy; ICT; textiles etc.) from Azerbaijan and about 170 Italian companies.
At the end of the initial session, the ceremony for the signature of nine economic-commercial agreements and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs for remunerated work carried out by cohabiting family members of the staff of diplomatic missions, consular offices and permanent representatives.
