Prime Minister and interim Foreign Minister Mario Monti sent the following message to Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mrs. Signora Dipu Moni:
“It is with deep distress that I learned of the tragic incident that has taken the lives of hundreds of persons in the capital Dhaka. I wish to extend my own personal and the Italian government’s sincerest condolences to you and to all the families of the victims”.
