Italian Economic Diplomacy 8th July: latest news from the world

Brazil – Saipem wins a 325 million dollars contract.

Saipem has been awarded a contract with Petrobras for the installation of a submarine system for the pre-sal (i.e. at shallower depths than salt formations in the seabed) project in Buzios, off the coast of the state of Rio de Janeiro, one of the largest deep-water oil fields in the world.  The entire production system of Buzios-5 provides for the interconnection in two phases of 15 wells to the Fpso unit, i.e. Floating Production Storage Offloading. The project assigned to Saipem includes the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the “Riser Steel Lazy Wave (SLWR)” and related “flowlines” between all wells and the Fpso unit. For all offshore works Saipem will use state-of-the-art means in the development of subsea fields.
