Bologna University is with Africa, for innovation and sustainable development

The event entitled “Bologna University is with Africa, for innovation and sustainable development” will take place tomorrow, 27 November, in Bologna, from 18:00 to 20:30 pm, as part of the European Researchers’ Night 2020. The meeting will be attended by Giuseppe Mistretta, Central Director for Sub-Saharan African Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Jean Leonard Touadi, President of the Italian Geographical Society’s Centre for Relations with Africa, and Giovanni Ottati, President of Confindustria Assafrica & Mediterraneo, as well as professors and researchers of the University of Bologna.

The meeting will focus on the main challenges facing Africa today in the strategic areas of education, research and the development of the key economic sectors and the role that Italy and the University can play in this respect.

Over thirty projects funded under the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme are currently underway in the various research areas, focusing in particular on innovation and development in the agro-industrial and livestock sectors, healthcare and renewable energy.
