Russia – Inauguration of Enel wind farm at Azov

The ENEL wind farm at Azov, in the Rostov region, has officially been inaugurated. The wind farm, which took about two years to be built, is equipped with 26 turbines, covers an area of 133 hectares on the coast of the Sea of Azov, and has an output capacity of 90.09 MW, capable of generating about 320 GWh per year. Thanks to the green energy produced by the plant, it is estimated that it will reduce atmospheric emissions by about 260 thousand tons of CO2. The electricity produced by the plant will be sold by ENEL on the local market. The Azov plant is the first wind farm completed by ENEL in the Russian Federation. With the completion of the works and the commissioning of the Azov plant, ENEL will strengthen its position as a key foreign player in the country’s renewable energy sector.
