Today, Italy’s new Consul General in Bengaluru, Alfonso Tagliaferri, met with the Deputy Secretary of State Protocol of Karnataka, Veerabhadra Hanchinal, at Vidhana Soudha, the seat of the state legislature.
This was the first official meeting of the new Consul General in Bengaluru, the capital city of Karnataka. Ideas were shared to further strengthen relationships between Italy and Karnataka, and special attention was paid to S&T and manufacturing.
The Ambassador of Italy to India, Vincenzo de Luca, said: “The official presentation of the Consul General marks the beginning of a new phase of the Italian presence in Karnataka, a key Indian state considered to be the most advanced region for innovation and digital technology. The opening of the Consulate General in Bengaluru bears testimony to the qualitative growth of the partnership between the two countries and to the commitment they share to promote new relationships in the field of technology, innovation, and sustainability.”
