Giornata dell’Archeologia italiana all’estero
Giornata dell’Archeologia italiana all’estero

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, speaks at the Italian Archaeology Abroad Day, an event taking place today in Rome, at the Campidoglio.

The initiative, organised in cooperation with the Municipality of Rome, is intended to showcase the Italian excellence in archaeological research abroad that the archaeological, anthropological and ethnological missions financed by the Foreign Ministry (246 in 2022) have been conducting for decades on the five continents, with the aim of raising awareness and attention among the general public and the relevant Parliamentary bodies about this Italian excellence.

The event, which will be opened by the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, will also be attended by the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano, as well as the Ambassadors of the countries in which the Missions operate, qualified representatives from the institutional and academic world, and 180 archaeological mission Directors.

The closing speech of the event will be delivered by the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Maria Tripodi.
