Minister for Foreign Affairs Giulio Terzi spoke by telephone with Indian Foreign Minister S.M. Krishna regarding the two Italian nationals abducted in the Indian State of Orissa.
Minister Krishna updated Minister Terzi on the latest developments, confirming the Indian authorities’ maximum commitment, at both Federal and State level, to achieving a positive solution.
Minister Terzi underscored the absolute necessity that any initiative undertaken by the Indians place the safety of the Italian nationals at the top of its priorities.
In the same conversation with Indian minister Krishna, Minister Terzi also spoke about the case of the two Italian servicemen detained in Kerala, reiterating Italy’s position regarding the affair.
The two ministers agreed to stay in close contact.
