Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi spoke on the telephone today with Malta’s new Minister for Foreign Affairs, Francis Zammit Dimech.
Minister Terzi extended his warmest congratulations to Minister Dimech. He reiterated Italy’s firm intention to go on intensifying bilateral relations, which the two ministers defined as “extraordinarily cordial”.
Terzi mentioned, in particular, the positive outcome of the 5+5 Dialogue Summit held in La Valletta in October 2012 with the participation of Prime Minister Monti. He underscored the need to continue the effort to strengthen the central role of the Mediterranean in the bilateral and European agendas.
In this context, Minister Terzi also extended an invitation to his Maltese colleague to visit Rome at an early date.
