Minister for Foreign Affairs Bonino spoke by telephone today with Iranian Foreign Minister Salehi, to whom she expressed her congratulations for the positive outcome of the Iranian elections, which offered the people an opportunity to freely express themselves in the election of Rowhani.
In a brief exchange of information on the Syrian crisis, the two ministers expressed the desire to work together on a political/diplomatic solution that would put an end to the civil war and allow the Syrian government to consider the requests of its people. The two ministers also agreed to relaunch bilateral dialogue through technical delegations.
