Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini spoke to Italian photographer Francesca Commissari by phone yesterday, 4 March 2014 to express her sympathy and friendship. She congratulated the photographer on her release and checked on her state of health.
Francesca Commissari was arrested in Caracas, the Venezuelan capital, on 28 Februaryduring a protest demonstration. Working in close liaison with the Farnesina, the Italian Consulate General immediately stepped in to help the photographer and support her until her release on 2 March.
