The challenges of Kosovo’s pathway to closer European integration, the outlook for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and the strengthening of bilateral relations. These were the issues discussed at the meeting at the Farnesina today, 15 April 2014, between Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini and the Foreign Minister of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj. Minister Mogherini told her guest that she was pleased to see the Kosovar leadership’s commitment to the EU-facilitated dialogue with Belgrade, and encouraged him to continue on this road.
Minister Mogherini reiterated that during the Italian EU Presidency Italy would continue to support Pristina’s European integration and the signing of the Association and Stabilisation Agreement.
In thanking Italy for its support for Kosovo’s aspirations, Minister Hoxhaj confirmed his government’s strong commitment to fight corruption, strengthen the rule of law and fully normalise relations with Serbia.
During the meeting, the two ministers signed a bilateral readmission agreement.
