Alluvioni nei Balcani, Italia invia 300mila euro di aiuti.Mogherini, “solidarietà concreta a popolazioni”

Italy immediately responded to the Serbian and Bosnian authorities’ appeal following the recent flooding by earmarking 300,000 euros in humanitarian aid, as Minister for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini announced.

“My thoughts go out to the families of the victims”, said Mogherini, stating that Italy would “offer our concrete solidarity to the populations affected”.

The Italian Cooperation funds – 200,000 for Serbia and 100,000 for Bosnia – will be transferred through the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Federation and made available to the Red Cross organisations of the two countries for the purchase of emergency supplies.

The Italian foreign ministry also made 4 boats available for use by the rescue teams, to be sent from the UN Logistics Depot in Brindisi as part of a larger load of international humanitarian aid that includes electrical generators and other equipment made available to the United Nations by the Italian Cooperation.
