Della Vedova in Norway, priority to investments energy and arctic

Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs Benedetto Della Vedova is in Norway on a mission that will bring him to the Svalbard Arctic archipelago (Longyearbyen and Ny Alesund) and then on to the nation’s capital.


Once in Svalbard the Under-Secretary will be accompanied by Italian ambassador in Norway Giorgio Novello on a visit to the CNR’s scientific base “Dirigibile Italia”, where he will hold meetings with the Italian and international scientific community. He will be meeting in Oslo with Deputy Foreign Minister Bard Glad Pedersen and Deputy Minister for European Affairs Ingvild Naess Stub, with whom he will discuss the Italian EU duty Presidency and a series of themes essential to relations between Italy and Norway, such as economic and trade collaboration, Norwegian sovereign fund investments, energy collaboration and cooperation in the Arctic. The Under-Secretary will also examine bilateral economic relations, currently in a positive phase, meeting with some of the main Italian business persons in Norway, executives of local firms and members of Norwegian think tanks.
