Mid-East: telephone conversation Mogherini-Lieberman, condemnation for new attack

Minister for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini received a telephone call this afternoon from Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman. Lieberman thanked the Italian minister for her message of solidarity following the kidnapping of three Israeli teenagers. For her part, Mogherini condemned this morning’s attack in which a fifteen year old Israeli lost his life, and extended her personal condolences to the minister, also on behalf of the entire nation. The foreign minister shared her Israeli colleague’s concerns over the situation in the Middle East and the many areas of crisis in the region, from Syria to Iraq to Libya. The two ministers agreed to meet in mid-July during Mogherini’s visit to Israel.
