“With the Israeli army’s ground operation in Gaza in the wake of Hamas’s rejection of the Egyptian ceasefire proposal, the risk is that the situation will spiral completely out of control”. The declaration was made by Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini, who arrivedin Amman inthe evening of 17 July after her visit to Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
“It is more urgent than ever to establish an immediate ceasefire”, added the minister, who tomorrow afternoon will be in Cairo.
