The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, had talks today with the United Nations Special Representative for Libya,Bernardino Leon, and with the Tunisian and Palestinian foreign ministers, Mongi Hamdi and Ryad Al-Malki
During his phone call with Mongi Hamdi, the two ministers discussed recent developments in Libya following the ruling by the Libyan Supreme Court and reiterated the need for the parties to resume dialogue.
Migration was also discussed, in the run-up to the 4th ministerial conference on migration and development taking place in Rome on 27 November 2014 as part of the Rabat Process.
During his talk with his Palestinian colleague, Malki, Gentiloni confirmed Italy’s support for a just, stable and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the two-state principle.
