Vietnam: Della Vedova, grande successo missione, Italia vince quando fa sistema

“The satisfaction of businesses that have participated in the mission to Vietnam was 100%, the best results seen in recent years in customer satisfaction surveys of participating firms. This has been a complete success and has shown how Italy can win by creating systems. In other words, when the government, businesses and sector associations coordinate their efforts at the internationalisation of our extraordinary entrepreneurial and technological expertise, exporting Made in Italy and encouraging our country’s growth”. The statement came from Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs Benedetto Della Vedova, who led a “system mission” to Vietnam last week, organised by the Agenzia ICE, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Economic Development, Confindustria, ABI, Rete Imprese Italia and Unioncamerre with the collaboration of the Italian embassy in Vietnam. Mission participants included more than 65 businesses, associations and banking groups, for a total of 120 Italian delegates.

“This is a strategy that begins at home”, Della Vedova underscored, “in a daily dialogue between institutions and the private sector aimed at identifying priority countries and sectors to target, and on which to concentrate efforts at joint public-private ventures according to the method developed by Deputy Minister for Economic Development Carllo Calenda. Missions such as this one to Vietnam, founded on what are increasingly intense political relations, are one of the most effective internationalisation support activities in terms of the contacts and concrete export opportunities that they generate. “Now that the mission is done”, Della Vedova concluded, “we are working to follow up on the various initiatives launched, beginning with the joint economic commission whose first meeting I chaired in Hanoi”.
