Upcoming holidays: Advice for Italians going abroad

The increase in “hot spots” and episodes of terrorism in various parts of the world creates a growing threat to the personal safety of Italian nationals going abroad, especially to celebrate the upcoming Christmas and New Year’s holidays.

The Farnesina urges all Italian nationals planning a trip to check the www.viaggiaresicuri.it website for advisories and/or warnings of a general and specific nature, along with useful information regarding travel documents, health and, especially, security.

Most importantly, it urges everyone to register their travel plans at thewww.dovesiamonelmondo.it  website. The service allows the ministry to track down Italian nationals in the event of adversity or emergency. The ministry’s Crisis Unit also has a 24 hour telephone hotline: 0636225.
