Gentiloni: Telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister

The Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Paolo Gentiloni, and the Iranian Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif, had a telephone conversation yesterday afternoon, 4 January 2015.

Their talk included an up-date on the negotiations for a global and verifiable agreement on Iran’s nuclear capability, which have been extended until 30 June. A successful outcome of the talks would pave the way for a further improvement in relations between the two countries in a number of sectors, most notably economic and cultural.

The phone conversation ended with Minister Zarif extending an invitation for Minister Gentiloni to visit Tehran. The visit will take place in the near future.
